Was that weird? Did it make you uncomfortable?

Well, I recently started writing for a new site (U by Kotex) and the mission is to help stop all the weirdness about periods. They happen. It’s not a secret to anyone. It’s time to get over it and get educated, don’t you think?

Let’s look at some numbers:

More than 1/2 of women feel that society looks down upon talking about vaginal health.
 70% believe that it’s time for change, but only 45% feel empowered to make a difference.

72% of women believe that society is more open to discussing men’s health.
 And 60% of those women feel that they’re expected to keep vaginal health issues to themselves.

60% of women are more likely to turn to the Internet than to other women, including their friends or mothers, for information or answers about their vaginal health.

Most women claim to be knowledgeable about vaginal health issues, but more than 1/3 cannot dispel some basic myths.
 Nearly 1 in 3 women don’t know that a woman can get pregnant if she has sex during her period.

Pretty crazy, huh?

Kotex is also calling out the ridiculousness of tampon ads with their newest advertisement. It’s actually pretty funny so check it out.

It really is a great campaign and I’m proud to be a part of it.

I overslept today. My reader is at a billion. I have so much admin work to do on the shopping blog. Class! I’m exhausted. My brain hurts.

But I’m back. Did you miss me? Did I miss anything?!

I had an AMAZING time in Las Vegas and almost didn’t come back. I have a ton to write about and a few pictures. Sorry, I was totally slacking on the photo front. I have my poor feet to care for. I feel like I can sleep for three days!

Highlights:
- Vanilla Ice playing craps 5 feet away from me
- Tao
- the food!
- our Macauley Caulkin room (what?)
- Paris
- getting serenaded on a gondola

Low Lights:
- buying new heels and attempting to wear them to the club
- my feet feeling like they are going to fall off
- the bandaids…oh, the bandaids
- spending $75 on those bitch ass uncomfortable heels that tore my feet up

Yeah, that’s more like it.

That is also the name of a new blog I’m a part of that launches TODAY. I teamed up with some of the best twentysomething writers out there and we are bringing you a blog about surviving these crazy years.

Jess of Jess Writes had this amazing idea for a blog and wrangled Princess Pointful, Brandy, Chelsea Talks Smack….and me. Yeah, I’m still trying to figure out how that happened! Those ladies are far more talented than I, but I’m so psyched to be a part of it and gonna make the most of this.
