Edie plays soccer.
She runs full speed at the ball, pushes it around with her nose and kicks it along. It’s the cutest thing in the world. I need to take my Flip Video out with me next time she does it.
I took this on my iPhone this weekend. There is so much shadow from the fence but it’s too cute not to post.
P.S. Go look at my cute new Twitter background. It matches my blog. Follow me if you don’t already!

I need some change.
This blog has been lacking the real reason you all come read this blog.

I’m not really one who dresses Edie up. I think a coat is necessary sometimes because it’s cold but you won’t see me dressing her up in pajamas, “Bad to the Bone” shirts and fur lined, leopard print show girl dresses like some of those other dog people. I love my dog but choose not to dress her up completely ridiculous.

When I came across this little fleece coat in the $2 Target bins I couldn’t resist. Especially because I can do this and she will sit still so I can take a picture.

While I’m not a crazy dog dresser upper to the extreme, I’m still a total gusher about her cuteness.
Because really?
How freaking adorable is she?
Today is Edie’s first birthday!

I wasn’t able to bring her home until the end of Feburary but today is when she was born. She was and still is by far the most adorable corgi you ever did see. Remember how tiny she was?

Edie is very bossy and independant. She likes things done on her time. No cuddles unless she feels like cuddling. Same for kisses. When you least expect it, you will pounced on and smothered with puppy love. Every time I walk down the stairs, she runs to the back door. She always wants to be outside even if she was just out. When I put on my shoes, pup can barely contain herself thinking she is going to go play. She runs around like a crazy face, tearing around our yard in circles and begging Winston to chase her only to repeatedly lap the little guy. Edie gives great hugs when I come home and right before I leave. She puts her paws up on my shoulders and gives meĀ snuggle.
For her birthday Edie got snow. My brother shoveled the driveway and made a big pile for her. She sticks her nose in, eats some and will be shivering but refuses to go inside because she loves snow that much. You can see her jumping around at my feet because she loves it when it kick the snow for her to chase. Silly puppy.

Happy birthday, Edie pup!
Tuesday night I got home from work to find my dog covered in blue ink*. Turns out she chewed a pen and it busted. Luckily, it didn’t seem to be in her mouth, just all over her white fur patches. She never chews things up either! Figures the one day she decides to chew on something it’s a pen.
Well the next morning, I took Edie out before I left for work and there was some snow on the ground. My puppy has decided she loves snow. She runs around in circles and races all around the backyard skidding and sliding in the snow. It’s the funniest thing ever!
There isn’t a ton of snow on the ground in this video and you can’t really tell but I was kicking the snow up at her and she was biting and chasing it.
Take a peek at my blue corgi playing in the snow! Sorry in advance for my shoddy camera skills and my giggling like a 12 year old.

Is it sad that I’m looking forward to when the snow piles up even more so I can take more** video of her? And I HATE*** snow.
* Some of you may have seen my frantic twittering asking for someone to tell me my dog wasn’t going to die.
** Hopefully not blue while doing so or I might have a heart attack thinking my dog is going to die again.
*** HAAAAAAAAAAAAATE

For a dog who loves playing in her pool, she sure hates baths.

No, I didn’t get knocked up, have a kid in the short time I was in Vegas. And no, I’m not talking about my own mother, even though we all know how awesome she is. Hah.
I’m talking about me: the bad puppy mom.
Last week, I treated Edie for fleas (ew, I know, blahblahblah). I Frontlined her, bathed her, washed bedding, clothes, ordered natural flea powder – I did everything.
I came home from Vegas and noticed she was a little scratchy still but I figured it was nothing a bath wouldn’t cure. Yesterday she was still scratching so I tried to look at her belly and she had red, painful looking bumps all over her lower belly, legs and thighs and refused to let me look at it. Normally, this dog would let me do anything to her, roll her around, grab her paws, whatever so I knew something was really up. I promptly freaked out, because that is what I do, and called up my vet.
The vet managed to squeeze her in a few hours later and in the waiting room, of course, my pup charmed the pants off of everyone who so much looked at her. It was our turn and she smoozled the vet a little before her examination and gave plenty of kisses. Then I had to help the vet look at her belly because she would try to wiggle away if you did.
Turns out Edie has had a reaction to all the itching from the flea bites and has a slight infection.
I felt horrible and wanted to sink into the ground. I leave for a few days, come back and my puppers has an infection, is hurting and uncomfortable. So she had a shot of steroids yesterday and we were sent home with two sets of pills. She has some antibiotics and more steroid pills to help with the itching.
Worst puppy mom ever.

I can assure you, pup, lots of puppy cuddles, new toys, treats and peanut butter will be given in order to make up for my slacker parenting!
