OMG Mad Men

Cool. So let’s talk about how Mad Men is the best show on television. Since pretty much ever. And how I’m completely obsessed with it. And how it starts again on Sunday.

And we can discuss how awesome it would be to live in the 60s, because their wardrobe is just ridiculously amazing. And how I worship Joan Holloway and how I love Don Draper. And how sad I am Sal is no longer around. And how Paul is such a hipster and I love him. And how Joan and Roger need to get back together.

No joke, last summer I watched the first two seasons in like a week and then watched the rest of season three as it came on. It’s likely that I probably tried to make you watch it. It’s likely you think it’s a little boring at first, but I swear it picks up.

Seriously.

BEST. SHOW. EVER.

Anyway, I really wish I was going to a Mad Men party because I want an excuse to wear wiggle dresses and drink old fashioneds and dye my hair red and basically pretend I am Christina Hendricks.

(except I wouldn’t dye my hair because just no)

(well, maybe if I was guaranteed to look like her even though that’s kind of creepy, but seriously, I love her)

So yeah, I’m not attending a Mad Men premier party which makes me sad. But I’ll probably be drinking some sort of drink and pretending I could pull off red lipstick while watching it on Sunday.

To take my obsession a little bit further, I also made a How To Have a Mad Men premier party list over at Shoptopia complete with decor and everything. To go along with my Get The Look lists for Joan Holloway and Betty Draper which are both filled with vintagey goodness and exact replicas of their dresses.

OBSESSED.

I told you.

Okay, Mad Men fans. Let’s discuss.

How psyched are you for the new season? What do you think is going to happen?

Okay how about this: you make the trek out to the suburbs and we will watch Mad Men while sitting in our pajamas wearing red lipstick (that no one can see so it doesn’t matter if we can’t pull it off) and then drink some wine?

Sounds good? Okay see you then.

Sal has to come back!!!! It’s so bizarre how I go from disliking Pete to feeling bad for him, to actually liking him! Same with Betty, although I was pissed at her for leaving- with a guy she doesn’t even really know!!!

PS I tried to have a Mad Men party for this Sunday except only one person was going to come, so we decided to try again for the season finale because it’s closer to Halloween and hopefully people will want to dress up then. I’ll be with you, drinking some 1960s drink pretending I look like Joan. Cheers!

Now, don’t hate me, but I never got into Mad Men. BUT. The clothes are to die for.

BF is going out of town next week and I’m going shopping! Hit me up for a short road trip!

MAD MEN. cannotfreakingwait.

I desperately want to be decked out with my hair in a bouffant, wearing a shift dress (and pearls, natch), holding one of those long cigarette holder thingys (even though I don’t smoke) and making eye-sex with a mr. jon hamm.

I am OBSESSED with Mad Men– granted, I only started watching it about 6 months ago, but I plowed through all three seasons way faster than I intended and am now way more excited than I should be about the beginning of season four. I’ll second the Pete cycle of “Ew! Well, maybe. Go, Pete!” Best Pete Campbell moment of the show, ever? When he goes and “tells on” Don to Bert Cooper, and Bert is like, “Mr. Campbell. Who cares?” Oh, PETE. (Wow, look how Pete Campbell just hijacked my comment.)

I’m still in the middle of season three. I don’t know if I can catch up by Sunday!

OMG CANNOT FREAKING WAIT.
love this show! got addicted last year, watching season 1 online. i LOVE that the joan/betty dresses are totally in style now. especially because joan is the only [non-porn] chick whose boobs are as big as mine. [i'm not joking. i hate it. except she makes me hate it LESS. :) ]
no one i know is having a mad men party either, unfortunately! but if i was having one [and i lived in chicago] i would totally invite you. and we could drink dirty martinis and gossip at commercials. and it would be awesome.

We’re drinking martini’s tonight to celebrate. I am OBSESSED!

All I have to say is – SO PSYCHED!

Wicked excited for tonight. I have wine ready to go to enjoy while watching!

Mad Men is on my must-watch list. I’ve never seen an episode, so I plan to buy the first few seasons soon.

@Andrea, for real. What a babe.

I’m sad Sal is gone too! And, so suddenly.

I also watched the first two seasons last summer back to back.

Plot-wise I’m up for anything…as long as they keep the same costume designer. Such a great show!
