pretty headphones and current listenings

I have this weird thing where earbuds hurt my ears super bad. Maybe I have exceptionally small ears or earbuds are abnormally huge. Whatever, they hurt and I complain a lot about it. Last week I finally decided to do something about it and did a search for “cute, pink headphones”.

No, I’m not kidding. See?

They are metallic-y hot pink over the ear Skullcandy headphones that are slightly obnoxious if worn in public but sometimes I just might want to be slightly obnoxious and make everyone jealous that I have cooler headphones than them. Plus the sound is amazing.

But for days when I want to be slightly less obnoxious, I got a pair of earbuds (also Skullcandy) that have 3 different gel bud thingys in different sizes for a better fit which means they won’t hurt my freakish ears.

So instead of just showing off all the super cool stuff I bought, I figured I’d share some albums I’ve been listening to lately as well.

Fun – Aim and Ignite: Jessica Maria turned me on to this band. Currently loving this album. It reminds me a bit of Queen and I love that.
Elliott – False Cathedrals: one of my favorite albums of all time. It’s just pretty and perfect. Trust.
The Get Up Kids - Something to Write Home About: They issued a 10th anniversary edition of this. Can I just say how old that makes me feel? But for the record, this album is fantastic.
The Stills – Logic Will Break Your Heart: I love these Canadians. This album reminds me of summer time.
Since by Man – We Sing The Body Electric: Milwaukee hardcore. Don’t click on that unless you’re up for some screamy, heavy shit. I’ve seen them live more times than I can count. They broke up a couple years ago but dude, they are still awesome.
Fight From Above – L.A. Kids: I just heard about these dudes from Sean tonight. I liked them so much I bought the album from iTunes. That says a lot from a serial downloader.

I linked to each bands Myspace because they have music players. But if you’re nice and think you might like to hear more, email me and I’ll break into my collection and see what I can do for you.

YES! You should blog about music more often because your taste in it is AWESOME (aka just like mine).

Want hot pink head phones ASAP.

Man I hate earbuds with a burning (the boyfriend asked to borrow my iPhone earbuds, and I was like, “I hate them, I don’t use them, and I don’t know where they are”), but I’ve been considering the Skullcandy ones for a couple of weeks now. They have a kiosk at the mall (yay, the mall!) so I can go try them out.

I want the Fun music…because they are opening for Paramore in May when Paramore is FINALLY on tour in the Quad Cities…can you compare them to any other bands? I need to listen to their myspace page.

Ten years since that Get Up Kids album came out? Man, that makes me feel old, too.

I have the pink Skullcandy earbuds and I loveee them. Now I want the big ones!

The Stills (and in particularly that album) is one of my favourite bands of all time. I always knew you had good taste, but know I have confirmation.

LOVE those headphones {my earbuds match your headphones} and your taste in music! I’m always looking for fun new things to liven up my day…I’m obsessing a little over Fol Chen recently.

I thought I was the only person with the small ear problem! I have a ridiculously giant (but not in a cute retro way) pair of headphones that do the trick but I would love some earbuds that don’t hurt. Thanks for posting the link!

I love that the only reason myspace is still relevant is because of their lovely music player. I still feel like it’s 2006 when I see it mentioned, though!

I have the same problem with earbuds…my ears are freakishly small and the buds are just too big and awkward.

I have small ears, too – but earbuds only hurt when I’m trying to sleep and listen to music.

I have weird ears too and one hole is bigger than the other so one ear bud always falls out. I’ll have to give those a shot.

You know, I’m the same way with ear buds and I think its small ear canals? BUT I found a pair.. which naturally doesn’t matter now that you have adorable pink headphones… that fit! Good to know huh? Not sure where I was going with this. LOL. <3

Dude, I bought the same pink Skull Candy in-ear earbuds yesterday! Aren’t they great?!

Skull candy earbuds are the BEST! I haven’t found a better in-ear phone than them. I got them free from a Lollapalooza gifting suite 3 years ago – wahooooooo!

I hate my headphones…whenever it’s cold, they fall out of my ears. No idea why.

Skull Candy headphones are the best, I have the fluffy pink ones. And I also cannot use the ones that go in your ear, they hurt!

The Stills are awesome! I was them in concert last year and they rocked.

I am totally in love with fun. I saw the lead singer Nate, when he was in The Format(which is also amazing) in concert a few years back. He is amazing. Glad you’re enjoying them!

I totally have the same problem with earbuds. I thought I was the only freak with crazy small ear canals! I have been meaning to get some new earbuds, but it hasn’t happened yet so I just do a lot of complaining!

Earbuds hurt my ears too! I thought I was the only one.
