currently obsessing over
  • my ridiculously big purple bag
  • Mad Men (the show, the clothes, dreamy Don Draper and the fierceness that is Joan Halloway)
  • chicken gnocchi soup at Olive Garden
  • adding some color and dresses to my wardrobe. We’ll trying to at least.
  • Groupon (just scored one for my favorite cupcake place ever, Swirlz)
  • perfect autumn days
  • honey apple brie bites (more about that in my recap of touring Pampered Chef test kitchens if I ever get around to it)
  • Rufus. I finally got to meet that little guy (and Kaya too!) and I wanted to steal him so him and Edie could hang out and be adorable together.
  • movies on ABCfamily. This weekend I watched Stick It and The Prince and Me.

Also, I’m looking for a new show to start watching. I was really late to the game on picking up Mad Men and How I Met Your Mother but I’m all caught up on them now. I’m sure there are other amazing shows I have been missing out on.

Suggestions?

How I Met Your Mother is totally awesome. You’ll enjoy it ( and love NPH a lot there :) )

As for more new show suggestions, have you checked the vampire diaries? I’m in love. Completely.:)

I’m not sure how I feel about the Vampire Diaries. I caught part of the first episode and it felt like an even worse Twilight. And while I love Twilight, it is kinda bad haha

[Reply]

I’m a little jealous that you got to meet the blog-famous Rufus and Kaya!

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

And they are a million times cuter in real life!

[Reply]

I haven’t even seen Mad Men. I know, kill me, but I never seem to catch it!

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

Watch it online! I found a few sites that were streaming the episodes so it worked out :)

[Reply]

Do you watch The Office?

Also, YAY FOR COLOR! Such a good idea.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

I catch episodes here and there of the Office but I haven’t watched it all. Maybe I’ll start that soon!

[Reply]

Um, that new show Modern Family is AMAZING. Watch it. Right now.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

Ahhh! Okay, I was at Alex’s a couple weeks ago and I caught an episode. I need to catch up!

[Reply]

YES NICOLE. I was going to say modern family too! And I just started watching Lie to Me. And I’m obsessed with Criminal Minds too. (A&E plays a lot of reruns.)

And I’m SO GLAD you got the swirlz groupon! I thought of you immediately and was so jealous!

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

We’ll have to go get cupcakes when you are here. Yes? YES.

[Reply]

I’m loving the Autumn weather too. Also I agree with the two people’s comments above me – Modern Family is my new favorite show. And it’s been a long time since I’ve had a favorite show. Cougar Town with Courtney Cox is kinda cute – it comes on right after the hilariousness that is Modern Family.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

I’ve seen one episode of Modern Family and thought it was hilarious. I’ll have to check out Cougar Town too!

[Reply]

You should watch Glee! It’s such an awesome show and there’s only been about 8 or 9 episodes so it wouldn’t be too hard to catch up on. Bones is another of my favorite shows- it’s in its 5th season so there would be lots of catching up to do but the show is fantastic and David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel are so worth watching.

Jamie Reply:

I think everyone loves Glee :) If they don’t, they obviously have no soul.

[Reply]

big bang theory?

ugly betty?

[Reply]

Shows I recommend: Modern Family (hilarious!), Lie to Me, Bones (which has a few past seasons you could catch up on), and for a little fashion fun…Gossip Girl!

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Becky, Thanks! I’ll look into them :)

[Reply]

Mmmm… gnocchi…

Guess what? I get to see you in… like 9 days. YES.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Doniree, Hurry up and get here already!

[Reply]

Do you watch Its Always Sunny? I love that show and hope to be like charlie when I get older.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Matt, I don’t but I’m guessing I should start.

[Reply]

I’ve been really enjoying modern family, it’s all kinds of hilarious! =)

Liz @ The Klutzy Kitchen Reply:

@Kyla Roma, I need to get into Modern Family. I’ve heard all sorts of amazing things about it.

[Reply]

Honey apple brie bites sounds ridiculously yummy!

Also, Mad Men is love.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Liz @ The Klutzy Kitchen, I’ll post the recipe. You should try them for your food blog. You’d love them, I promise!

[Reply]

Liz @ The Klutzy Kitchen Reply:

@Jamie, Thanks! This weekend I’m going to be doing a baked brie recipe that I’m super excited about. I heart brie. So much.

[Reply]

Ok, I’m going to second and third (fourth? I’m bad at math) the votes for Modern Family and Glee, because they are both just delightful. Also, yay for colorful accessories! Totally a great way to make “meh” outfits exciting.

[Reply]

Love swirlz! Yummy!

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Red Hot Annie, agreed. It’s my favorite cupcake spot in Chicago. Their frosting is perfection.

[Reply]

Man, Honey apple brie bites seriously made me drool. My keyboard may be broken…

And I watched those movies on ABCfamily too! That and the Project Runway marathon on Lifetime. Love it!

You should check out some classics. We are watching all the season of M*A*S*H right now, they are so amazing.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Mrs Soup, oh you have no idea. I’m going to post the recipe!

[Reply]

I just started The Good Wife and am looooving it so far. Chris Noth is great and so is Julianna Marguiles. Love it

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Legally Fabulous, I love Chris Noth so I’ll look into it :)

[Reply]

I get stuck watching ABC Family movies as well. I can’t pass them up, it seems.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Kim, Seriously, they are kind of irresistible.

[Reply]

Olive Garden chicken gnocci soup? I’ve been thinking about it ever since we went there. Major YUM.
As for TV shows, I’m really into Dexter- but it’s a little dark. (& judging from all of the GLEE! MODERN FAMILY! votes, I’m not so sure dark is what you’re going for) Real Housewives of OC is the greatest guilty pleasure in my book, the Office is fantastic and hmm I think that’s about it! Happy watching :)

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Melissa, I’ve heard Dexter is a great show. Maybe I’ll start that next.

[Reply]

this chicken gnocchi soup you speak of, sounds amazing. why have I never heard of this deliciousness at the Olive Garden before?!

as for shows, like everyone else here has said: MODERN FAMILY. It’s easily one of the best new shows (behind Glee, of course) of the season and I also recommend Parks and Rec. Amy Poehler is hilarious and Aziz Ansari is all kinds of funny.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@thatShortChick, I think it might be new to the menu. I’ve never seen it on it before but it was good!

[Reply]

i totally watched stick it and another cinderella story yesterday on abc family, such quality movies, haha.

[Reply]

Yes, I want to steal/borrow Rufus for my own too. I don’t think Erin will mind. And I adore Mad Men. Must discuss.

[Reply]

Hmm…I also love Glee and The Office. I work in advertising and I think I’m the only person at work who’s never seen a Mad Men episode. Gotta change that!

I like America’s Next Top Model too, even though it’s a little ridiculous.

Honey apple brie bites sound faaaantastic!

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Amy, oh ANTM. I use to recap it on here for the longest time. But Tyra became a little too much for me so I gave up. This is the first cycle in forever that I haven’t kept up with.

[Reply]

MMM love chicken gnocchi. The Office and House are my faves when I have time for TV. Your blog is so cute, I love it :)

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Melinda, thanks! I think I might start the Office. I’ve only every seen episodes here and there so it might be cool to see it all!

[Reply]

Gilmore Girls? I know the series is over, but you can watch it on dvd! All seven seasons. :D

You already watch Grey’s Anatomy, right? Hmm… Those are really the only two shows I watch. What about Ugly Betty? My mother-in-law watches it; I think it comes on Friday nights.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Megan/SomewhatVoluble, I LOVE Gilmore Girls. And I’m a total Grey’s fan too. Great choice :)

[Reply]

Megan/SomewhatVoluble Reply:

@Jamie, After I finish Gilmore Girls, I plan on starting HIMYM. I’ve never seen an episode, but I’ve heard great things!

[Reply]

I’ve recently been watching HIMYM and LOVE it. I cannot believe I was so late in learning about it, either!

Your list makes me happy, too, btw.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@E.P., did you watch last night’s episode. SO good!

[Reply]

E.P. Reply:

@Jamie, No, I didn’t catch it! I always forget when the new ones are, so I just watch the ones On Demand.

How sad is that?

[Reply]

The office is GREAT, but the first season is a little… british. I had to power through the first eps to get into it, but now i’m in love.

I also love Veronica Mars. It’s off the air now, but it’s AMAZING. I’ve mad a few people watch it and so far everyone has fallen in love.

[Reply]

We just started watching HIMYM, and we are completely obsessed! How was I not watching this show???

Also, Rufus loved meeting you too! ;)

[Reply]

I discovered two new shows this week: Modern Family and MTV’s absolutely ridiculous yet possibly addicting, “Jersey Shore.” Did anyone catch the premiere last night? About 8 Jersey “guidos and guidettes” that live on the Jersey Shore together for a summer- it’s nuts how stereotypical they are.

[Reply]

Jamie Reply:

@Nicole Crimaldi, oh gosh. I’m sure I can handle that haha

But Modern Family is all kinds of amazing. I love it but I’m behind a few episodes.
