Ick. I totally know what you’re going through. Around Christmas, my dad’s ENTIRE FAMILY (of whom everyone is 50 or older) decided to join Facebook. Friend requests ensued, then invites to different applications and other stuff happened. And then, I updated my status one day and MY GRANDMOTHER commented to ask me what was wrong. Eh.

I don’t use Facebook much anymore.

None of my family has yet to join Fbook ::knocks on wood:: but my boyfriend’s mom did. And she friended me. And that was sooooooo bizarre. Then my ex-boyfriend’s mom friended me, and life got more weird.

Damn internet.

I feel that way about co-workers! I would die if they ever discovered either of my blogs. When they talk about FB I just say that I don't do it, and when I get a request, I don't accept or ignore, and when they bring I up I act as if I never saw it because 'I really don't do FB'. I am totally with you on this one. It’s not so much my own parents… they already know I drink on Sunday,swear like a sailor, and occasionally break stupid laws so I can write about how fun it was on my blog…and I’m kind of ok with that. They made me. It’s there fault. But inlaws…well that’s a totally different story. I think my mother-in-law prefers to think I’m still a virgin. Until I produce a grandchild, any mention of my sex life is sure to horrify her.

I've had the same problem! I've ended up accepting most of their friendships, and so far it's turned out that beyond being connected, they don't bother looking at my profile at all, ever. It might be only a matter of time to see if they discover more, but despite the drama that could ensue, mostly I just don't care. Heh. .-= Phil´s last blog ..Must. Chill. Out. =-.
