I am a shameless lover of celebrity news. I know exactly what Britney is up too. I’m up to speed on my Jonas Brother / Miley fueds and love affairs. What’s up with Grey’s Anatomy George and Izzy next season? I can tell you. Lindsay Lohan is following around Sam Ronson like a puppy? Old news but can you believe she still thinks leggings are pants and is making money off that?

Basically I’m on top of my celeb gossip game. It’s kind of sad but kind of AWESOME.

But what I don’t do is Perez Hilton. I think is a fame hungry idiot. Yeah, everyone talks shit about Britney’s crazy or whatever but when you feel the need to start outting celebs and being an all around douchebag, I’m over it.

It seems like yesterday Perez got his. will.i.am from the Black Eye Peas got all in his face because Perez was running his mouth on his ridiculous ad infested web site. Whatever, no biggie. But then will.i.am’s manager decided to punch Perez in the face a few times.

But you know what? I don’t feel sorry for him one bit, not even after watching his tear filled video claiming violence is never the answer.

He’s right that violence is never the answer. What pisses me off about this whole situation is that Perez decided he wouldn’t be intimidated. And to show he wasn’t afraid he decided to call will.i.am a “fucking faggot” because it’s the “worst thing a thug would ever want to hear”.

Really?

An openly gay man and supporter of equal rights is going to call someone else a “faggot” to degrade them? Way to promote hatred and intolerance toward your own community. That just doesn’t seem right to me.

I’m incredibly interested in how Perez will clean this up and try to make nice.

After GLAAD urges Perez to apologize for his anti-gay slurs, he hits back with:

“I am saddened GLAAD chose to victimize me further by criticizing me for how I non-violently dealt with a very scary situation that, unfortunately, turned violent. While I doubt I will get an apology from GLAAD, nor do I expect one, I would just hope people know how difficult it is to intellectualize a situation and think rationally when a thug disguised as a musician is screaming at your face and intimidating you. I am just very fortunate and grateful that nothing more serious happened to me.”

Someone should hit him again for his stupidity.

I hadn’t heard about this, I’m not really a follower of celebrity gossip, but it’s interesting. I’m going to keep following the story now, thanks!

Here’s the thing, when it comes to the F-word & the N-word I’m one of those people that doesn’t like them, but if the group it applies to wants to use it then fine…I guess. But the problem Perez has here is the fact that when the fight between Isiah Washington & T. R. Knight broke out Perez was one of the most vocal people about how using the F-word is so wrong. I’m not sure what he can do to correct this. Luckily he isn’t THE spokesperson for LGBTQ rights. I’m sticking with Cleve Jones on that one.

I’m not much of a celebrity news person, but I did hear about this one. And I almost made it through one of his horrible YouTube videos. I still can’t believe he did this, and he really annoys me. I can’t add much to what you wrote, so I’ll just agree. Cuz, jeez.

When I first heard this story yesterday, I TRULY thought it was a joke.

because Perez + alleged bar fight + throwing gay slurs = A JOKE, surely.

I am constantly confused by this dude, just exactly who does he think he is?

I love celebrity gossip, but I cannot stand Perez and his terrible website. He’s a bully and an immature jerk who craves attention but cowers behind his website when someone confronts him. Cry those tears, pal. I’m curious as to how he’ll try to save face this time.

I read Perez Hilton through my feed reader just to get the latest from the gossip gravy train. However, I agree with you that he’s got himself backed in a corner right now. Like you, I’m interested to see how it all unfolds.

And Perez Hilton is a nominee for Teen Choice awards. I signed the petition to boot him off.

I agree- I think it’s disgusting that someone who supposedly is so interested in gay rights would call someone that word. Grow up, perez. I still don’t think it’s right that he got assaulted, but he should also be ashamed of himself.

I have to agree with you. I’ve been contemplating deleting his site from my feed reader for a little while, but this makes me want to do it sooner rather than later. He’s a bully that needs to stop.

I read Perez but agree that whole situation is effed up. Not cool on his part, not that he’ll post it on his website. And violence is never the answer but then again neither is intolerance.

It seems to me like Perez using that word isn’t so much about him being PC or Non-PC in using it, it seems like an attempt to spin this into a gay bashing when from what I can gather it was a Perez bashing.

Is it okay for people to attack each other? No. But Perez is more like a talk radio host than anything else, and as a public personality you reap what you sow. It’s just sad that what he thought would be something his fans would rally around and be outraged by….isn’t. That can’t be a good feeling.

Perez certainly took the more immature route in this scenario and stooped very low, even for him. It’s really a shame.

Like you, I feel as though Perez had it coming. For someone who so proudly claims to support gay rights and getting rid of the hatred, he has a lot of him himself. He should be ashamed. And the gay community should not be proud of his endorsements. He hurts their image and mission.

I also was a bit incredulous when I watched Perez’s video clip and heard his big comeback to will.i.am.

I was less than impressed.

I broke up with Perez last November because during height of the Prop 8 controversy I felt he was doing more to spread hate than he was to prevent it.

This whole situation just reaffirms my lack of desire to visit his website. *sigh*

I happen to be online in twitter when Tila Tequila and Perez twitted all these ( I’m shameless ) and just in time for will.i.am to start his twitter and made all those videos LOL

I’ve never been a huge fan of Perez, because he’s got this double standard of gossiping about celebrities and then trying to be their friends. His lame little photoshopped cigarettes were NEVER funny, and I’ve long been amazed that he gets all the attention he does.

I heartily agree with Kyla’s assessment: this wasn’t gay bashing at all, it was PEREZ bashing. And generally when the N-word or the F-word are thrown around by those in each respective group, it’s never malicious, but rather more playful. Perez just needs to get a life, honestly.

First of all, I love the title of this post! Secondly, I agree with you, for someone that is all about promoting gay awareness and voicing his opinion about equality, he took his community back a peg when he used that horrible word. Boo hoo. Perez needs to stop getting his panties in a twist. True that violence is never the answer, but when you’re the president of the Bitch, Moan and Whine Club, nobody is going to care if someone kicks your ass. He acts like the world owes him something.

Ew. This post makes me very uncomfortable. Yeah, Perez can be a total douche, but violence is never the answer. this is the same as saying “you were asking for it in that short skirt” to a woman who was raped.

He annoys me so much! He always had, really. Admittedly, I too read celebrity gossip, but I can’t stand his site. He’s just so…yeah. Anyway, he deserves this. It’s interesting to see what’ll happen next.

I’m not a Perez fan to begin with (I have major issues with him after the whole MJ debacle, posting some shit and then tweeting about how “the media” needs to leave the Jackson family alone. Perez Hilton is a hypocrite. I used read his site daily, but after he exposed himself as a jerk over Ms. CA, I decided I didn’t want to legitimize him any more. I also checked his sponsors, and I refuse to support them. Hit ‘em in the pocketbook!
