vegas to-dos

What started as two awesome 20somethings twittering, turned into a a magical brainstorming phone call and from there it turned into a ridiculous meet-up of 20+ twenty-somethings taking over Las Vegas the first weekend in June.

I’m going to Vegas this weekend. I’m sure you will be seeing that a lot around blogs and twitter. You’re probably already sick of hearing about it.

Whatever, don’t ruin my fun. I’m psyched.

Besides the obvious of hookers and blow, I need some suggestions of what to hit up this time. I’ve been there twice before but there is a lot of Vegas to cover. I’ll be seeing LOVE so I have shows down so let’s talk food and other stuff! I’m so far from ballin’ right now so let’s be reasonable but I’m not above a splurge or two.

What’s your favorite spot in Vegas? Food recommendations?

P.S. If unflattering photos of me wandering around the strip or lounging by the pool looking all whaleish show up online, I will kill you.
P.P.S. I’m not kidding.
P.P.P.S. You will be dead before you can think of logging into Facebook to start tagging.

Every time I go to Vegas, I go to Bally’s for the breakfast buffet. Yummy.

By the way, I’m so excited – just a few more days!

I’ve been reading your blog for a while, and had to respond to this as Vegas is an all time fave destination. Go eat at Mario Batali’s restaurant at the Piazza San Marco in the Venetian… it’s not too formal, has incredible food, and an even better wine list. (and WOOHOO for ‘Love’! I can’t wait to go back so I can see it again!)

be sure to hit up Boa in the Ceasars Palace shops for drinks – try the Blackberry Smash – it’s TO. DIE. FOR.

I can’t wait to read all of the recap posts!

I’m gonna go cry in the corner now.

I seriously can’t freaking wait. I can’t believe this was born out of a Twitter convo, but I am SO PSYCHED to be doing this!

Me=super freakin’ excited!

I’ve only been to Vegas once, so I’m ready to do anything!

Lamest response ever: My favorite part of Vegas was eating at In and Out. You have to take a cab there because it’s impossible (and dangerous) to cross over the highway to get there!

I’ve been twice–Both times, my favorite things to do were to just wander and look at all the hotels. They are just all so unique and full of fun stuff! Usually just grabbed something wherever we happened to get hungry. No shortage of good food!

We ate at Il Fornaio (spelling?) in NY NY and it was really yummy Italian food and reasonable!

And the place right across from Bellagio with the outdoor seating so you can watch the fountains…which I can not for the life of me think of right now!

Have a great time! stay away from deal or no deal slot machines…very addicting!

[Reply]

I’ll say you partaaaaaaaaayyy. Hahaha. Many good brunches too esp. around the bellagio.

I’ve never been as an adult before, but I remember the Coke and M&M factories were the cool places for us underaged folks to go…

I cannot wait to be there already!

My favorite thing to do in Vegas is to hang out by the pool, but my second favorite thing is the Bellagio fountain show! I could watch it all day.

Have a great time!

okay so I just got back (yes I’m a crazy who’s going two weekends in a row) and OMG OMG OMG Love was AMAZING. We were in the front row and WOWOWOW. Which night are you going?

As for food, we ate at Fin in the Mirage. It’s fancier Chinese food, but it was super quiet. Good for a date, but not fun for the ladies. hehe. We tried to get a reservation at Mesa Grill, but they were sold out by the time we tried to get in there. We hung out around Caesars and the Mirage since the show was there. Oh and before your show to Love, they will probably give you 2 for 1 drink tickets for the Revolution Bar in the Mirage. I’m excited to go back, it will be fun to see you all!

I just recommend you having enough fun for all the bloggers (such as ME) who won’t be able to join in on all of the vegas debauchery.

Ohh I wish I could go!! Vegas was SO FUN! I would definitely try Emeril’s restaurant in MGM Grand–i had the most amazingly awesome best meal of my life there (the pork chops with pureed sweet potatoes, carmelized onions, cornbread stuffing and apples. OHMYGOD I’m drooling right now again)And you also must spend hours at the pool. Any pool. Best thing ever.

Gah!! Can’t wait! I found a really great Design*Sponge guide that I’m going to try to go through before I get there, and I have a map of the strip that I’m marking up like the huge tourist that I am. I can’t even comprehend how much fun it’s going to be to hang out with you = )

[Reply]

Um, my favourite thing about Vegas was the place on the strip where you can dance in a cage after you buy a margarita in a glass as long as your arm.

No I’m not kidding.

Firefly tapas on Paradise is to die for…

I’m so jealous, you have no idea. Club XS at the Wynn. Believe me. It will blow your mind. It’s tough to get into (esp. with 20+ people!) but you can do it if you get there early. Also, try the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity!

Having never been to Vegas before, I have no idea where to go or what to do….but we’re going to have an awesome time doing it!

Whoever suggested Mario’s restaurant in The Venetian is spot on. I’ll be going there for dinner on Saturday for SURE- it’s a must eat for me in Vegas. Best pizza, best cheese plates, best everything.

Care to join me?

ps- I’m so f*cking excited to meet you I could spit. Or pee. Or spit while peeing. Or something entirely less gross and weird.

The buffet at the MGM is awesome. And Wayne Brady’s show is hilarious. We spend at least one weekend there every 2-3 months and never fail to see the pirate ship show, the volcano or the Bellagio fountains. I’ve also heard the carnival in the sky at the Rio is cool, but we always happen to go on a weekend where it’s not showing.
