My nails have been growing and looking rather nice when polished but during my most recent bout of overreacting to something silly, I bit them off. Old habits die hard, yo.

Then I decided I needed to fake it until I make it and was going to get them done. I can’t be going to interviews with yucky fingers. Totally not sexy.* So I call up the mother and am all, “I need the name of that place I use to go to for nails” and she was like “oh, I’ll go with you” and I was like “…………” and then she said that magic words: my treat.

Before she could change her mind, I yelled, “see you at seven, you better throw in a pedicure!” and peaced out of work early.

I had to take advantage of the sudden niceness while it lasted because dude, I’m all about some pampering and a free meal.

So I’m in the massage chair and I’m watching American Idol on the flat screens for like the first time ever. Almost dropped my iPhone in the foot bowl. Three times because I was distracted by dude with the sparkly outfit who was killing it and cracking me up in the process. Other than that, I’m not interested in Idol but I have to question Adam Lambert’s wingy- cage shoulder pads. What the hell was up with those?!

Whatever, pedicure! Right! Woo! This is like my second pedicure ever and the first one I had was at a Boca sponsored spa party in February. Well this time, they used this grater looking thing on me and I’m all like dude, my feet are not cheese, thank you very much.

And it tickled like crazy and I almost kicked him in the face.

Twice.

One for each foot.

But it was worth it because my feet look pretty. After I was like “was it as good for you as it was for me?” And he was like “ummm, no, wierdo”.

Getting pampered is violent awesome.

* Not like they are judging me on my sexy but hey, chewed up nails aren’t attractive.

Pedicures are *the* best.

Awkward!
On a similar note, I once sacked my hairdresser … while he was cutting my hair. I tipped him extra big to make up for it.

pedis are ammmaaaaazing. I never believed in getting them done until I got my first one and then I was hooked.

Score! Free mani/pedi with your mom is always awesome!

yeah, lambert was killing me softly with those cage-y shoulder pads but I still wish he would’ve won.

So, the very first time I got a pedicure I was so surprised at how ticklish my feet were (I don’t really let people touch my feet…ever) that I kicked the lady’s forearm and splashed my foot water everywhere. She was not pleased. But let me say, it was not free…so I’m guessing it was WAY better for you.

Welcome to the club! I can’t go two weeks without a pedicure ever since my first one..which, no doubt, my mother “treated” me to!

Pedicures are wonderful and among my favorite things ever! Its even better when its someone else’s treat. =)

LOL! I love pedicures.. I gave myself one today, but I love going to a spa to get them done!

I <3 mani/pedis! When I get my toes done I love when the tech paints a small white flower on my big toenail. So cute!

Hi! I’m new to your blog… But I have to comment on the Adam Lambert thing… LoL. I was wondering about the shoulder pad wing things too, but then KISS came out and performed with him and it all made sense!

I have never had a pedicure, but oooo do I want one. If only I could find someone else to pay for it, then I’d be down, for sure.

I am always the worst when it comes to the scrubby part of a pedicure. The ladies always laugh and say “it tickle?” and I’m like YES of COURSE you are scraping the bottom of my foot!

I think Adam Lambert got the weird shoulder things from lady gaga– she wore them a few weeks ago. Too bad they’re both gay cause they’d make an awesome couple.

Ha! I’m going for a pedicure right before Vegas and I know exactly what you mean!! Such a weird feeling and I’m never able to keep my cool. It’s one of those things that I look forward to….and don’t at the same time lol

so jealous! I have been DYING to get a pedicure! I really need one now that it is summer and I HATE doing my own toe nails. oh, and I love when my mom says things like “my treat.” lunch, pampering, or a new hand mixer (yes, got that from her this week)its always very exciting.

I really want to try one of those fish pedicures! Have you heard of them?

Shoulder pads? If I’d have known hilarious shoulder pads were involved in American Idol finales, I would possibly have watched. Haha! And a pedicure sounds awesome….

I do chew my nails. Gross I know but now that you mention it, I’ll go to a nail salon and probably get something pretty.\

ugh! i hate chewed up nails! mine are usually like that, but i’ve been keeping the biting to a minimum. my biggest problem is they break and snap because i smack my hands/fingers on every wall, counter, desk, or person i come near. they are doing well now. i have never had a pedicure, though, and i’m SO jealous! i have nasteeeey feet, so, a pedi would be a nice treat for those ugly babies.
