the one where I could make excuses

I know, I know. I’m a bad blog friend. I’m not around as much. Not commenting or reading as much as I’d like. You’re probably not even reading these because I suck so much. I promise, I’m not ignoring you, “losing” your phone numbers blog addresses and breaking up with you.

It could be because I’ve been sick and feeling crappy.

It could be because Chicago is currently being mistaken for Antartica with all this ridiculous snow.

It could be I awesomely dropped my iPhone charger in a cup of pop (not soda).

It could be because I’m really in need of a hair cut.

It could be because I’m too busy chasing a puppy around in 30 feet of snow.

It could be I’m really mad I can’t find Greek: Chapter One.

But really?

It’s because I’ve been working crazy hard on trying to get The Printed Blog together. You try launching a newspaper in a month and a half!

I promise though, this blog won’t suck this week. I mean, I could have posted more Edie pictures but that’s like every other day here at the House of Lovely.

You people need variety.

And all I can manage to do is crank out is a list of possible could-be excuses.

Instead of leaving this blog cold and barren, I’ve scheduled some fabulous, funny and all around awesome guest bloggers to keep things lively around here. So check back Monday for a super fun announcement (from me) and then show my guest blogger friends some love this week?

I promise once things slow down a bit, I’ll stop being the neglectful blog friend that I am.

But, I’m trying to figure out ways to get as many of you guys in my paper as possible. One way or the other. It will be worth it!

don’t worry, we still love you! and since i’m blinded by my love for you (maybe it’s just the pictures of edie you post… kidding, kidding.), i’m going to let it slide that you said “pop (not soda)”, because really… who says pop? i’ve never heard anyone call it pop, ever. :)

Get better soon! Lucky us didn’t even have a single drop of snow in Hungary… but black Christmases are just so depressive.
Luckily my phone is not worth much, at all, so if I dropped it (or its charger), I wouldn’t worry much. I’ve been longing for an iPhone, but my other dream present is a Sidekick. I know that it’s not so ‘intelligent’, but it’s just soo cute! :)
I’m looking forward to seeing the guest posts and The Printed Blog get together!

I completely understand that…

-It’s called pop (I’m from Michigan)
-It’s can be hard to balance a blog and a full time job (a lot of work)
-Pet pictures are irresistible (although mine’s a cat)
-Chicago is a tundra (thank goodness for the Pedway)

Good luck with the paper!

Don’t be sorry for not reading and commenting blogs regularly, you do have an offline life to live and if your blog buddies can’t understand that then maybe they’re the ones who need a break from the computer :P

p.s. welcome to my blogroll!

Just fyi, I like the puppy posts. :o ) Keep up the great work with The Printed Blog!

rachel is wrong. i’m totally with you on the ‘pop’ thing, miss. as is the rest of canada, i believe. soda sounds so, 1950s?

i’m sure all your work at the printed blog is totally paying off & worth it, so don’t worry about us – we’ll all be here when you have the time to be writing!

It always has been, and always will be POP!!!! are you a closet Canadian???

[Reply]

I realize this post was all about excuses, but all I can think of is…thank goodness there are people left in the world who say “pop”. I’m originally from the midwest – moved out east for college, etc. So it makes me feel happy to see/hear the word pop.

That’s all. :)

Jamie, I am still reading! Like you, I am very busy too, and I understand blog neglect MORE THAN AAAANYONE.

I am very excited about the Printed Blog! I’ve read the paper issues will be distributed in Lincoln Park/Wicker Park, but where? I want a paper copy. :)

And PS – I’m starting a new Chicago restaurant review blog soon. When it’s up, I definitely want it to be a part of the Printed Blog. I’ll email you or one of the other ladies or gents at that time.

And last but not least, I can’t wait until Antarctica leaves the building!
