I was forced to go to a haunted house last Hallowe'en. It was actually a series of Haunted Houses in an amusement park. I bitched so loud and so long that my husband now knows to not even mention the idea in front of me. Effing haunted houses. I am high-strung enough without having corpses jump out in front of me, thank you very much.

I was never allowed to go to haunted houses either… I halfheartedly asked so I could SAY I’d asked when my friends went and wanted to know why I didn’t go but really? I didn’t wanna.

I’m old enough now to appreciate their comic value, but more than one person who has snuck up behind me to scare me has walked away bloodied because I cannot control my limbs when I am surprised or scared like that. So I stay home and I think people appreciate that.

You’re Dad’s pretty nice. When we went to the Haunted House with my parents when we were kids, my Dad was the one that pushed me forwards, into the scary chainsaw men. Who proceeded to chase me, screaming bloody murder, out of the house and past all the people waiting to get in. Luckily I was too freaked out to be embarassed.

That sounds like this place called “Terror by the Lake” or something similarly frightening from my hometown. Of course, I was also the sixth grader playing with my Barbies so I didn’t step foot in there. But my friends went and they warned me about the chainsaws.

Chainsaws? That just ain’t right man.

I am 21 years old and I refuse to go through any haunted house. They TERRIFY me. Haunted corn maze? You’re out of your mind. To make matters worse I love horror movies, but always freak out when I watch them. I’m still waiting to grow out of this.
