womanizer

I’m talking about my girl, Britney’s new single. It dropped today!

It seems she is finally getting her life back together. She took the VMAs by storm racking up three awards and looking ridiculously hot while doing so. Brit is making her way back!

This song was so hyped up and was getting pushed further and further back. I just got a chance to listen to it. I love Britney as much as anyone else but I really don’t think this was anything new or special. All the talk about the production and who she is working with got me excited for her new material.

But really, this song sounds like Ooh Ooh Baby off of Blackout. Change the lyrics a bit and now you have Womanizer.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad song. It’s just not living up to the hype.

Give it a listen.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the comment….! I love your Britney post. Although I swear I need to watch things on the TIVO “ie the Office” before I read the blogs!! Do you have that issue, where you read about stuff first. Granted I will still watch. I swear blogs decrease the need for the news which is all negative anyways!

Meeh….. Is that her singing? I thought it was the guys who sang Mr. Roboto. It’s so digitalized. And how many times can you sing womanizer in a row? It’s so repetitive.

The last line of your post sums up my entire view of Britney.

However.

I actually don’t hate the song. I just wish the chorus was something more than her saying the word ‘womanizer’. I want to like the song more but I can’t.

Oh, remind me, when we are in Boston, I can teach you dances to “Dirty Pop”, “One Two Step” and/or “Me against the Music”. Ahh, the perks of teaching theatre camp.

It sounds absolutely nothing like her. Actually, it’s a mix of Radar, Ooh Ooh Baby and Rihanna’s SOS.

Meh…I’ll still listen to it…

yeah…it’s okay…

it really does sound like a lot of the same.. and somehow it also reminds me of a Pink track.. just the beats, not the lyrics or the singing.

Meh…

eh, it’s just alright for me. it doesn’t sound like her. too… roboty and digital-like.

also reminds me of the song “happy together.”

I love ooh ooh baby! It’s very very similar…not sure how I feel about it all. I need her to bring it hard core. This isn’t going to win me back. I actually think I like Ooh Ooh Baby better.

im glad britney is having a good year and that shes back. i really started feeling sorry for her. hope it actually lasts.

I’m really looking forward to her comeback.

Those who claim not to love Britney are just lying. LYING!

Gah. Sometimes I even sicken myself with my dorkiness.

I missed the hype for it… like … I knew she was recording and whatnot, but I was oblivious to all this hype.

But… considering how bad I was expecting it to be, I actually thought it was pretty decent. All she’ll need to do now is pull a few killer dance moves and lip-synch poorly and it’ll be a successful comeback. I thinks, anyway.

I heard this song on the radio this morning and didn’t even know if it was Britney Spears. I didn’t think it sounded much like her at all, but then there were parts that made me think, “Is this Britney Spears?”

[Reply]

I don’t think I like it. And I agree with everyone else–it doesn’t really sound like her!

Oh, Brit. *sigh*

Yeahhh not really sure how I feel about it. In my opinion, Britney will never get close to “Piece of Me.” That song will always rock my world.

I actually REALLY like the song. They’ve been “debuting” on the radio all weekend, and I love it. :D

I’m with you. I gotta say, I love Britney and always will. I wish her the best. That being said? I just can’t get on board with her music anymore. I don’t know..maybe it’s because I’m 25 now and I’ve grown past the “over-produced, over-mixed, over-stylized to HELL” music and have actually fallen in love with (GASP!) real singer-songwriters who work hard and know what they’re doing. I wish her the best, but I’ve truly outgrown her.

I heard it on The Hills last night and I thought to myself “That is what everyone is so excited for?!”
