This is going to be a quick one before I go to bed.

Tyra decided to make an appearance this episode and teach the girls to express themselves through pain. Menstrual pain, you’ve been choked, forced to watch Tyra act like a freaking idiot for 10 cycles now — all the same thing. Whatever, Anya’s weird looking ass won the posing challenge. Her prize? A nude shoot with Nigel Barker.

*Sidenote: the amount of hits I get asking what Anya’s accent is, is pretty funny. For the record, she is from Hawaii, but is Russian.*

Anyway, for the photo shoot each girl was given a genre of music to portray. Here we go!

Anya as punk. I think she really didn’t have to do much. The hair and styling pretty much did everything for her.

Dominique as folk. When will this bitch go home?! She is so hideous.

Fatima as heavy metal. Fatima annoys me to no end. She is not the second coming of Iman and she can’t walk for shit. Buh bye.

Kat as emo. I love how they styled emo. hahahah

Lauren as pop. Lauren is still my favorite. She is totally awkward and sometimes just falls into the right picture but she is gorgeous and I love her.

Stacy Ann as house. I think she’s a little more raveish. Her hair annoys the shit out of me. I don’t think she is as good as the judges make her out to be.

Grunge. I like Whitney but, dude, her expression is the same in every photo with her mouth slightly open. Change it up!

Aimee as R&B. Definitely not Aimee’s best photo, but it isn’t awful. She doesn’t catch the spirit of R&B, but she still looks beautiful.

Claire as country. Not very good, but again not awful.

Claire and Aimee were bottom two. Of course, Tyra sends home one of the only good models – Aimee. I don’t know why I even watch this show because she always does this and always pisses me off. If she sends Lauren home, I don’t know what I am going to do. Maybe throw something at my television.

Anyway, I think Lauren and Claire are the only ones who could be models. Kat too. All the rest of them suck.

Whoa, Stacy Ann’s hair. I don’t get to keep up with this as much as I’d like, but man. They’ve got them doing some stupid crap. And I don’t know how I’d feel if I got a naked shoot as a prize. But I’m also not a model, so I don’t know what I’d be thinking if I won.

As a photog, I like the pop and emo photos because they don’t look as posed or unnatural as many of the girls. *shrugs*

I haven’t been watching this season because I keep forgetting when it comes on. I really need to remember, huh?

I’m ready to just knock the competition down to Lauren, Claire, Whitney, Kat and Anya (if she’s very lucky). Thanks for clearing up the accent confusion. Now I’ll be able to concentrate again. Pretty much all the other girls are just incredibly annoying and TERRIBLE at photo shoots. By now, shouldn’t they have produced something mind-blowing? I’m still waiting for better photo shoot themes too…

Now, about the Nigel Barker shoot. Nude shoot for the portfolio? Sure. We’ll cover you up and make it tasteful? Fabulous. Then why, oh why did they have to blur out most of the shoot AND most of the final products? Poor naive Anya is going to hit the go-sees with straight-up Nigel Barker porn in her portfolio. Now that I wouldn’t have jumped at the opportunity…

I am still loving Whitney and Kat and Lauren really shone through this episode for me. Fatima, Dominque and Stacey Ann have GOT to go home. Claire was kind of kick ass this week, talking shit about Dominique right in front of her. But she drinks her own breast milk and that was way TMI so send her home too!

Dominique needs to go! I do like how Claire called her out on the husband thing. Maybe a low blow, but Dominique had it coming!

I can’t get past Anya’s accent either. Can you imagine her doing the Cover Girl commercial?

i agree entirely. I like whitney but when she opens her mouth i want to gauge my eyes out. same with fatima, anya and dominique.

I predict…kat and anya for the final two. with dominique being in the final three. she keeps doing photos that the judges like…which unfortunately isn’t going to get her ass booted.

i still wonder if the rumors that Tyra is going to leave ANTM are true…

Aimee was my favorite, although I liked her better pre-makeover. The emo photo is definitely my favorite. I just like the pose. I’d like Dominique to go very much. I say that every week.

In person, I hardly think any of them are pretty. What’s the deal? Are we going for high fashion only here? Can’t they do in-person pretty AND take high fashion photos?

Lauren, Claire, and Kat are still my top three. Dominique needs to go. I just can’t take her seriously. And Fatima annoys me to no end. Sadly, i’m sure the two of them will stay on, simply because they create fights and fights make the show watchable–right? Right?

Ugh. Aimee leaving was disappointing. Maybe next week they’ll finally get rid of someone bad.

The best part of this week’s episode was Tyra acting SUPER crazy at the posing challenge. You have a pain in your palm! You have a pain in your knee!

I cannot wait for Tyra to cut off Kat’s hair!

I really can’t stand Dominique!!!!!!! The episode made me so mad!! Also, uh, Stacy Ann, ew – I, too, have no idea what they see in her. And I was laughing SO HARD when they styled “emo.” Down to the scarf. In Williamsburg. I live near the ‘burg, and have been to concerts at that photoshoot venue. I was cracking UP with Jay Manuel’s talk about Williamsburg being the new Manhattan. WOO Lauren & Claire!

I want Stacie Ann to go. She bores me to tears! I still hate Dominique, she drives me insane. I love Whitney and Claire. Even though Claire’s photo wasn’t all that great but I don’t think it was as bad as they said. And can we get to the bottom of this Anya accent thing, where exactly does it come from. It cracks me up!

I missed thing episod and I debated reading your recap, but figured, hey? why not. I agree that Aimee and Claire’s pics were the greatest, but if you consider that in regards to all the other pics they’ve taken, they shouldn’t have been in the bottom 2. I really really hope they don’t send Lauren home.

I haven’t watched the episode yet because it hasn’t been uploaded. Boo. But I was sensing Aimee was about to go because of the bullshit comments she got last week. She is definitely one of the stronger models, but she’s obviously not the one they wanted to win, so they had to find a way to get rid of her.

Did Kat get a haircut? Is it because she was too “ooh unh ah” with the longer hair? )

Claire, Kat, and Whitney I think are in my top of faves. I’m just waiting for Dominique and Fatima to go home, seriously, it’s about time.

I wanted to jump out of the screen and kill Claire. She was being such a bitch this episode, and I don’t like Dominique either. But man, seriously, pull the stick out of your butt, Claire. Also, Lauren makes me laugh so hard and I can’t wait for her freak out next week. I think I might have a girl-crush on her.

I think if Claire would have smiled in that picture it would have been better and she wouldn’t have been in the bottom two.

I totes agree with you on most of these! I love love love Lauren. I don’t think it was her best photoshoot, but it’s like she has no idea how awesome she is a model (well…photo-wise, at least…def not runway). Dominique needs to go friggin’ home. Can’t stand her either. I love Claire tons, and I dig Whitney too. Kat and Anya are growing on me more and more each episode. Stacey bores me to death, and Fatima is naturally gorgeous, but I can’t stand her personality.

I can’t figure out how Aimee went home before Stacy Ann, Fatima, and especially Dominique. I figured Dom would be out by now, but then again, Tyra must love a drag queen (hello Jaslene, winner from cycle two-or-three-years-ago).

Kat looked pretty hot with that wig, but she didn’t look too happy when Tyra told her she was getting her hair cut. She’s been one of my faves from the start, mostly because she seems more intelligent (Cornell grad, right?) than most of the others.

Anya cracks me up. I think she’s a year or two away from the maturity needed to win, but she’s definitely got potential. As far as her nude shoot being “porn,” please. Nudity is not porn. Nudity is nudity. I mean, it’s not like she was tweaking her nips and licking her lips or something.

I love Lauren. She went a little crazy last ep, but damn, the girl is just gorgeous. I really hope she wins, but she’s gonna have to improve faster, or I think they’ll end up dropping her.

And I really think Claire is the most polished model at the moment. Things will change as others improve, but she’s at least gonna get top three.

Oh! One more thing… maybe you’ve talked about this before, but… is there anyone else who hates that “Tyra Mail” crawl screen as much as I do? Maybe it’s just me, but hearing all those girls read… that… stuff… soooo… slowly… is… getting… on… my… every… last… nerve. Love, Tyra! Man, I hope that thing’s gone next season.

I adore Lauren, but she better step it up if she’s gonna hang around. I also like Whitney, but the “plus sizes” (real women) never stay around too long.

If Dom doesn’t quit talking about herself in the third person, I may have to bleach my eyes and ears. She annoys the ever loving snot out of me for an hour a week. I can’t believe those poor girls have to live with her 24/7.

I’m with Mikey on the scrawl for Tyra mail. I wish we could throw something at THAT instead of our televisions!

I hate Dominique but Claire really came off as a bitch in this one. I’m sad about that, because I really liked her.

Again, I managed to miss the entire episode except for the final judging. SCORE! I think I must be doing this accidentally-on-purpose because I don’t want to listen to them read the Tyra mail. Anyway, WHYYYYYY do they keep kicking off the good models? I hate this show.

Lauren is DEF the only modelly one… though Whitney is sort of growing on me. Claire is WAY too commercial, she has ONE smile and one look. I want Dominque and Fatima to leave asap. Double elimination this week? Here’s hoping!
