I don’t think I’ve ever analyzed the difference between the two. I love the honey-roasted Skippy, but don’t recall a preference for plain. However, I do not do generic.
I have to say, my mom always bought Peter Pan growing up, so I am slightly impartial to that. Although wasn’t that the contaminated brand a few years back…?
sorry, i can’t 100% agree with you on this. i love love love love love jif. (creamy of course). best on wheat toast…and of course not the reduced fat, ick. but, i’ve also never really experienced skippy, so, i can’t really say honestly.
my brother in law got some stuff from haiti…real natural honest-to-goodness peanut butter. its nasty. like, all soupy and gritty. gross.
I used to get Jif (creamy) growing up. In college I bought whatever brand was on sale. Now I am using trader joe’s pb because it only has peanuts and a bit of salt and it is pretty darn tasty!
I used to eat Jif all the time, but then I switched to the Adam’s organic a few years ago. I was craving peanut butter the other day, and all we had in the house was Colby’s Jif, so I had a spoonful of it, and EW, it was gross!!! However, it is possible that I would say the same about Skippy if I were to try it, so I’m not sure which side to pick!
WHAT?!?!?! I have to try. I am actually eating my daily apple with reduced fat jif as I read this and I am blown away. I always thought Jif was the best…
One time in my gifted class in elementary school, we had a peanut butter taste test. The clear winner was Jif. Though a handful of people like Skippy better. No one liked Peter Pan.
This isn’t creamy, and it’s not cheap, but I get honey roasted peanuts freshly ground at my local Whole Foods and it’s by far the best peanut butter I’ve ever had in my life. It’s my favorite indulgence.
Just a 20-something in Chicago trying to keep my head above water. Neurotic, over-thinking, shameless celebrity gossip addict, bad tv watching girl with expensive taste and no money but completely adorable, if I do say so myself.

Yes and yes.
Used to be a dedicated Jif eater and then realized Skippy is MUCH better.
Also? I love Peter Pan.

I am partial to Reese’s peanut butter. But, my bum gains a few inches just thinking about it.

I have to say I have no idea. I was born and raised on Jif and I’ve never ever swayed.

I haven’t had either peanut butter in SO long. My husband only gets the organic, un-salted, no added sugar kind..Ugh!

Maybe I’ll lose your friendship for this, but… I don’t care what brand it is as long as it’s chunky.

As a peanut butter connoisseur, I maintain that Jif is much, much better. And believe me, I eat that shit all day long.

I don’t know if I’ve ever had Skippy… But I love me some JIF. Delicious.
I’m usually on the creamy side of the fence, but every once in awhile I crave chunky.

I’m all about creamy JIF. It is the ONLY peanut butter.

Yes, skippy is the best. But I like crunchy though.
Ok I am totally thinking about the peanut butter scene from Meet Joe Black now, so cute and yummy

Yes, Agreed.
Skippy is a far superior peanut butter spread than any other peanut butter spread. I have to stop eating it from the jar though.

Jif spreads easier, IMO.
-snickers-
But Skippy’s crunchy is DAMN good.
