peter pan syndrome, edie and pasta

I have the most ridiculous craving for pasta right now. I’m thinking I want to go to Leona’s some time this weekend. They have the best chicken noodle soup ever too! Seriously, ever. Figures I would want the most carby meal in the world but whatever. I want pasta!

My birthday is coming up at the end of the month. I’m turning 24, but I keep telling my boyfriend it is my 21st birthday. I am obviously in denial about getting older. 24 seems like a sucky age. I don’t want to get older. Peter Pan Syndrome. For serious.

This weekend I have to go buy Edie some new chew toys. She’s so ADD, that nothing holds her attention for more than 30 seconds. She needs more variety obviously, even though her current favorite toys are the cap from a laundry detergent bottle, a sock tied in a knot and the shoe lace on my workout shoes. That’s my puppy. I’m haven’t put any pictures of her up in a few days, so I think some adorable Corgi love is necessary for this Friday.

I have this night table that she likes to crawl under and scrounge around for anything in the world that is small and can fit in her mouth. I swear she manages to summon things out of thin air for her to eat, I don’t care how many times I sweep or vacuum. Anyway, I took the drawers from this plastic set of drawers I have out to block off the bottom of the night table so she won’t go under it. So what does my pup do? Finds a new place to nap. Obviously, I need to dust so um, yeah…just ignore that.

I obviously say obviously far too much.

she’s making it her den! Like how I use a crate for my puppy, dogs love being enclosed when they sleep.

she is SO FREAKING CUTE

i know I keep saying that – but it’s true!

mmmmmmm pasta and puppy paws.

I want your dog. Seriously. Also, some pasta–reading this has totally gotten my carb-y cravings going. Mmmmm.

Two days ago I had this insatiable craving for Angel Hair pasta. One of my roommates was making it and I was salivating into his bowl. I don’t care about the carbs, pasta is so filling and scrumptious.

That dog is obnoxiously cute. I “aww”-ed which I don’t do a lot. :D Have a good day!

I’m embracing 24 because when 25 comes around, I will hold on for dear life.

So cute! Seriously! Shower her with toys because of her undeniable cuteness :)

I haven’t been to Leona’s in forever – I forgot that place existed! I’m always craving pasta. Always. I don’t think I’d ever turn it down. When I was living on my own I’d eat prego & spaghetti every week. It’s a miracle I’m not fat from all the monster carbs.

I think I’d like to re-do my 21st birthday. It sucked and I didn’t really drink. This year, we’re drinking! Three days after it we’ll be in SF! Woo hoo!

she is really adorable.

and leona’s – yum. they have great veggie burgers.

So cute it hurts! And my dogs LOVE caps – I don’t know what it is. Their favorite is Gatorade caps from the single sized bottles. They seriously fight over them!

And hi, maybe you could not talk about getting “old” when some of us are, ahem, 33.
:) Have a great weekend!

Mmm. I love pasta. I’m actually serving pasta at my wedding and I had a meeting with the caterer last night and got all sorts of yummy pasta for free.

And your dog is way to cute. I dont think my cat will ever allow me to own another animal. Vader hates all other animals. :(

Awww, cute! My not-so-puppy-anymore SoMi (now 2) has a short attention span, too. She plays with toys for all of a minute and then looks to us for entertainment. Welcome to the world of parenthood!

Edie is so cute :) :) :)

[Reply]

She quite possibly is the most adorable puppy ever!!! So sweet….

[Reply]

Seriously. You are trying to kill us, right? With the cute?

[Reply]

She is just like a human kid, you buy them a crazy expensive toy and they play with the box it came in.

[Reply]

I would tell you not to whine about 24, as I’ll turning 2….9… this year, but I hate it when people who are ….thirtysomething… tell me not to whine about it. ;-)

I turn 24 in September and am probably going to be saying what you’re saing about it being your 21st. That’s what I was telling everyone this year. Because a hurricane came on my 21st and we couldn’t do anything. :/

Puppy is so freaking cute, too.

[Reply]

Aw Edie is so dang cute.

And Peter Pan is my middle name, no really, it is. I’m turning 24 next month and I’m basically calling it the third anniversary of my 21st birthday, since that’s what it is anyways, haha.

i can’t get over how adorable she is!

and i think it’s a woman thing that we will always deny our age until the day we die. lol

I may be secretly planning a dognapping trip.

oops :) I guess the cat’s out of the bag.

and 24? is a wonderful age.

[Reply]

Oh my gosh, that’s hysterical!

Personally, I loved 24–I got engaged and married that year, so it was pretty freaking awesome ;) I hope your 24 is equally amazing!

So cute that little kiddo! Birthdays? We all get them, thank god they only come once a year. Celebrate big, have fun. And get yourself some pasta girl!

[Reply]

Erm. ANTM update, please?

[Reply]

Get her a puppy kong and fill it with a little bit of peanut butter or they sell kong treats to put in it. You may have to play with it first to get her interested in it but the food inside will keep her busy. They are also safe to leave with her when she’s alone :)

Pasta is one of my favorite foods!!!

Good lord, nothing makes your home seem less clean than having a puppy leaning down and crunching on something everywhere it goes. My favourite is when Calvin surfaces with a giant dust beard hanging from his snout. I’m still working on photo documentation.

[Reply]

I’m craving pasta too! I’ve been trying to eat less pasta, but ALL I can think about today is lasagna. Mmmmm…

[Reply]

Thanks so much for the comment! Your blog is really cute and you have my dream dog. She is BEAUTIFUL. I will steal her–I MEAN. What?

Uh, I am turning 27 in June and would love to be turning 24 again – Enjoy it! You are always given the right to lie about your age though!

She is trying to make herself a little cave. God, I miss those puppy years!

[Reply]

Aw, she’s real cute. :)

And Team Carbs, for real. I am always in the mood for pasta. Heavily salted pasta.

[Reply]

Gah! Cute puppy!
Yeah, in a way I’m dreading turning 21 this year, since I know from then onwards it kind of gets worse. :P

[Reply]

first of all, leona’s = AWESOMENESS!!! yay, i love it when i read about chicago hotspots and happenings. so happy about it. and i just turned 24 on january, and so far i have to say that i like it. i thought 22 and 23 were a bit rough, but 24 is not too bad. it’s not too young, it’s not too old, it’s just….deliciously in the middle. and i’m all for it.
:)

and your lil pup is the cutest damn thing ever.

[Reply]

Your puppy is so cute that I can hardly stand it!

[Reply]

Um, pasta? Yes, please. My favorite thing ever. Have you ever been to Pasta Pomodoro? Not sure if they have one around you, but you should go if they do.

And I hear you on the whole twenty-four thing. Come August, I’ll be throwing a fit, too. I’ve enjoyed twenty-three…but twenty-four? Gah. All I think of is almost-twenty-five which is basically thirty.

Well, at least that’s how I see it. :)

OMG I want a puppy so bad when I look at her! **CUDDLES**And I’m craving pasta now too…I think some noodles are in order for tonight’s dinner… :)

Your doggy is just too ridiculously cute :-)
